WORSHIP

SUNDAYS 9 & 11 AM

Worshipping God each week is the spiritual practice that keeps our lives in focus.

If you feel far from God, consider making weekly worship a priority.

It is difficult to train ourselves to see people and events as God sees them without God’s help.

WORSHIP

Worship at First Presbyterian Church is traditional, yet relaxed.  During worship, we put forth our best. Dress our best, whatever that may be. Following a Children’s Sermon, children 1st grade and younger are invited to leave the service to go to Children’s Church while everyone else continues worship in the Sanctuary. Worship is the weekly occasion when we:

   Remember God’s love for us and the world;

   Ask for forgiveness for the sin that separates us from God and each other;

   Hear the Word of God read and proclaimed;

   Sing and speak the faith convictions of the people of God;

   Lift to God the concerns and joys of our life in prayer;

   Offer ourselves to God for use in the service of God’s kingdom;

SUNDAY MORNING

Every Sunday we gather together for traditional worship at 9:00 am and 11:00 am. We bring our best for these services to give glory to God. We sing, read scripture, pray, and celebrate the sacraments.

KIRKIN' O' THE TARTANS

Each year in October we celebrate the heritage of all worshipers. Historically the Presbyterian Church's roots are in Scotland. For the Kirkin' O' the Tartans we have a full bagpipe band and a procession of tartans.

INTERGENERATIONAL LEADERS

The act of worship is an expression of the entire community. Active involvement of all participants is an important part of our communal worship. Children, youth, and adults take part in leading.

SACRAMENTS

The sacraments of baptism and communion are practiced regularly in worship. We celebrate communion the first Sunday of every month during both services, and at the early service during Advent and Lent.

LITURGICAL CALENDAR

We follow the Reformed Liturgical Calendar. These celebrations include Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Palm Sunday, Easter, Pentecost, and World Communion Sunday among others.

SPECIAL SERVICES

Throughout the year we have many special services involving different groups in our church. These include Scouts, Noah's Ark Preschool, Children's Sabbath, Kirkin' O' the Tartans, Women's Sunday, and Youth Sunday among others.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR

We love keeping people in the loop and informed.

Director Steve Skinner

"We want you to come just as you are. When you walk through our doors you may see people in suits and ties, but you will also see people in jeans and t-shirts. We want to make sure when you visit you are comfortable and that is all that matters to us. As long you are come through our doors, we want to make sure you feel loved and welcomed. If you ever need anything, always feel free to connect with us. We love to hear from our new visitors. "

FESTIVA

Each year since 2000, First Presbyterian Church has hosted a series of high-quality cultural arts performances and presentations that are offered to the community free of charge.
