First Presbyterian
MINISTRIES
Below we have a list of several of the ministries that we offer here at First Pres. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible when joining one of our ministry programs. We believe that engaging in fellowship is a very important tool when growing to be more like Jesus. The encouragment of others is a powerful thing.
Christian Formation
We are all on a journey of growth and formation. First Pres provides many opportunities to grow in a Christian faith and knowledge. A good first step is to get involved in a Sunday School Class or a Small Group Study, but Wednesday Evenings are a family affair with something for everyone!
Youth Ministry
Come and hang out at Youth Group! We have a ton of cool stuff going on like retreats, trips to a trampolene park, basketball tournaments, fun games, powerful lessons, and much more!
Stephen Ministry
We are committed to the love and care of fellow members of the First Pres family. This is most visible through our visitation team, congregational care team, bareavement team, and Stephen Ministry. Stephen Ministry is a group of trained lay caregivers who journey with people who desire a campanion along their journey.
Children's Ministry
Kids are welcome to join in! We get to learn about the life of Jesus and the Bible while often digging into some games and arts and crafts. We want this experience to be as fun as possible for your children, in a safe environment. Two popular programs are:
Women's Ministry
Women's Ministry is plentiful. We have women's circles who meet monthly. We would love it if you would come and visit with us. We also have an anuual retreat in Montreat, NC where the bonding and blessings flow! Mark your calendar for the last weekend in January!
Music Ministry
When we sing, we pray twice. Even if you feel like you have no musical talent, God hears your joyful notes. We have opportunities for children, youth and adults through choirs and bells.
Senior's Ministry
We have an active group of seniors who gather for a monthly lunch and program. They spend time together in regular trips and social events.
Men's Ministry
Our men get together to learn through weekday Bible Studies, serve during workdays, and fellowship at regular "Mantreats."
